Well we made it here more or less in one piece. The flights were long and the little plane we flew from Helsinki to Kiev was a bit bumpy and rough.

But Ukraine is still where Nate had left it. Too, bad it seems a little bit worse for the wear.
Since 1996 Ukraine has seen a lot of westernization. Natalie even commented that fashion here is kind of like an extreme version of fashion back home. In a way that is both good an bad. Good because there is now a generation that doe not remember communism and the Soviet rule. Bad because it doesn't appear, at least at first glance, to have grasped that capitalism takes discipline. There are a lot of shabby looking things here.
The first thing we did after we got here was pay too much for a taxi ride to our hotel. Then once we checked in an had a little rest we

headed out to we the temple sight.
Once we drove through a ton of traffic and an accident we got to the temple. The building itself looks mostly done and now they appear to be working on the grounds.

The construction workers were not very pleased that we wanted too look around. So we didn't stay long. But got some good pictures.
We then wandered around the city center and

found out that our hotel is kind of out of the way and hard to get to using public transportation.
Here are also a few pictures of our hotel room.
