Back in the USSR

Our first day in Moscow was a wet and soggy one. We got in to the Kirschsky station around 10 o'clock and figured out pretty quick that Moscow is a massive city. The metro was packed.







We spent most of the day in the very center of Russia, Red Square. It is amazing how big it is in real life. The colors are great too, the red walls of the kremlin and state historical museum, the tans of GUM, the blues, yellows, reds, and golds of St. Basil's. It is kind of hard to imagine that so much of what impacted the last century came out of here.

One of the downsides of Moscow is the crowds. There are people every where! Natalie almost lost Nate on the metro when they started closing the doors before he had gotten in the car. Even in the Kremlin, there were annoying Asian tourists. They were loud and pushy. Checkout Nate's new friend in this picture.





For lunch we found a food court that almost felt like we were at home. Nate found fast Russian food, Natalie had a Russian subway sandwich.

Tomorrow, we are off to see more of Moscow and see if we can find some more souveneirs.
